About

Sarah Lillian is a stage manager, intimacy director and coordinator, and theatre maker who hails from Baltimore, Maryland. After graduating from high school, she joined a sail-training voyage that took her, along with 34 other trainees, around the Atlantic Ocean, experiencing new different cultures and ideas. Once she returned to land, Sarah attended Sarah Lawrence College, where she discovered a love and knack for theatre, and in particular stage management. She graduated mid-pandemic in May 2021 with a BA in Liberal Arts, and a special focus on theatre management and production, creative writing, and literature.
With the world still partially shut down, Sarah made the decision to apply to Perseverance Theatre in Juneau, Alaska, where she was accepted as the production/stage management apprentice for their 2021-2022 season. While in Alaska, Sarah was able to continue to learn, strengthen her skills in all areas of technical theatre, contribute ideas, and further her understanding of intimacy and EDI practices. After the end of her apprenticeship, she moved back east, working as a freelance stage manager, started the process of certification in intimacy direction and coordination, and went through the Professional Apprenticeship Program in Stage Management at the Juilliard school.
Once the Juilliard apprenticeship ended, Sarah has continued to work as a freelance stage manager, start to pick up gigs as an intimacy director and coordinator, and hold the title of production manager at a custom fabrication company.
Moving forward, Sarah would like to continue to experience, learn, connect, and find light within the darker times. She strives to become a resident stage manager before moving into an artistic director position. Overall, her hope is to bring happiness and passion to each project, and to uplift those who need it the most.
Sarah is currently based in New York City.
